Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on April 20, 2022 (Wed). Today’s patch contains 114 updates and is approximately 1.03 GB.

Improving New Adventurer Experience

Items

 As Black Desert has been on our adventure together with our Adventurers for a long time, there has been numerous items added into the world of Black Desert through the weekly updates. Therefore, this made it difficult for new Adventurers that are starting out to figure out what the items were for and whether or not they should it them or use them. So, we will strive to improve the item descriptions so that it is easier for new Adventurers to decide if they want to keep, collect, or use them.

● Improved the item descriptions of 316 items. It will clearly state how they can be obtained and what they are used for.
– More items have their descriptions improved in future updates.

 Black Stones, Memory Fragments, Hunter’s Seals, Gold Bars, Node/Conquest War items, and many more items would naturally pile up in our Adventurer’s Inventory and take up a significant amount of weight. However, this will be changed as 344 items had their weight reduced. We hope this will help our Adventurers take off on their adventures, lighter than before.

● Decreased the weights of Gold Bars, Seals, Black Stones, and other stackable items (a total of 344 items).

● Changed the materials needed to enhance and recover durability of accessories obtained as rewards from the main questline.
– Affected Items: Tears of the Wind Necklace, Forest’s Eye Earring, Red Sand Crystal Ring, Rock Heart Belt
– Enhancement Material: Freed Magical Black Stone → Black Stone (Weapon)
– Durability Recovery Material: Freed Magical Shard (Recovered 20 Max Durability) → Memory Fragment (Recover 50 Max Durability)
● Changed the quest rewards to the following as the items Freed Magical Black Stone and Freed Magical Shard were removed:
– Freed Magical Black Stone x1 → Black Stone (Weapon) x5
– Freed Magical Shard x1 → Memory Fragment x1
● Removed the items Wind Dew (exchanged for with the item Old Moon Grand Prix Coin) and Gale Black Stone (made with Wind Dew). Adventurers with these items will be compensated with Black Stone (Armor).
– The materials used to enhance [Race Horse] Giorgiaro horse gear was changed from Gale Black Stone to Black Stone (Armor). Therefore, the number of Old Moon Grand Prix Coin required to exchange for [Race Horse] Giorgiaro horse gear was increased from 10 to 20.
● Sent the following items to Heidel Storage as replacements for the enhancement materials that were changed.
– Freed Magical Black Stone x1 → Black Stone (Weapon) x1
– Freed Magical Shard x1 → Memory Fragment x1
– Wind Dew x1 → Old Moon Grand Prix Coin x2

* If you already have more than 192 items stored in Heidel Storage, then you can take the items out by taking out other items in the storage first.
● Changed the Family Inventory tab to appear once a character reaches lv. 60 even if they didn’t unlock their Family Inventory yet.
– If you do not have Family Inventory yet, then the Family Bag inventory will guide you through how to unlock it.

Quest & Knowledge

 We increased the contribution EXP rewards for the regular quests in Balenos and Serendia. The regular quests are optional in the world of Black Desert, however, we felt that new Adventurers starting out and taking the time to explore the world should have enough points to rent storage and activate production nodes.

● Increased the contribution EXP rewards for 220 regular quests in Balenos to the following:

● Black Spirit: Elven Rage – Fixed the issue where the skill activated while it was toggled.

● Changed the following to Tiger Blade:
– Changed the area of Attack 1 to match the area hit with the blade.
– Fixed the issue where Prime: Gale skill damage was not applied.

● Blooming – Added to the Skill Guide.
● Black Spirit: Maehwa: Decapitation – Fixed the awkward text about the number of hits.

● Black Spirit: Flash Slash – Fixed the issue where the rage absorption effect was not being applied when used after Smokescreen.
● Main weapon S-block – Fixed the issue where getting hit while changing weapons would cause her to change weapons instantaneously.

● Ninjutsu: Shadow Stomp – Added to the Skill Guide.

● Lightning – Fixed the awkward skill motion.

● Crimson Fang – Fixed the incorrect commands displayed on the Skill Guide.

● Wave Orb – Fixed the issue where the CC effect did not match the skill description.

● Flow: Low Blow – Fixed the issue where the Down Smash on the skill was not being applied.

● Added Lv. 56, 57, and 58 Skill Enhancements.

Skill Info Motion/Description
 

Use Soaring Claw to jump forward while slashing upwards. This skill has a Float effect as well as Recover HP on hits when she has 50% or more HP.

Use Markthanan’s Fang to add a Float effect option. It gives her a skill to use in combos where before, she only had skills with Knockdown effects.

Skill Info Motion/Description

Eviscerating Wings gives her a change of pace. She tends to face opponent head on, however, Eviscerating Wings gives Drakania the ability to dive in when she spots an opportunity.

Dragon’s Assault isn’t a combo skill, but it gives you the ability to start a combo with a Super Armor skill for a safe approach that also decreases the opponents’ All DP.

Skill Info Motion/Description

Abyssal Advance gives her and her allies the power to charge confidently onto the battlefield.

Use Abyssal Dominion to hit enemies with speed reduction effects while keeping herself safe with Super Armor. This will be very handy in PvP.

● Changed the item ‘Shattered Dragon’s Malice’ made with the skill Ceaseless Vengeance.
– Removed the expiration on the item, making it permanently storable.
– Multiples of the item can be stacked on a single slot.
● Black Spirit: Blazing Strike – Made the following changes:
– Increased her movement speed during the huge lightning strikes.
– Attack 2 hits were reduced from 10 to 3 hits.
– Attack 3 hits were increased from max 16 hits to max 30 hits.
– Changed Attack 3 so that a smaller lightning will strike at enemies nearby after the huge lightning strikes.
● Dragon’s Advance – Fixed the issue where the Movement Speed effect would not be applied in certain situations.
● Skewer – Fixed the issue where the skill would activate twice when used after Refraction, Flow: Markthanan’s Wings that was used during Markthanan’s Flourish, Eviscerate, or Brimbolt Strike.
● Skewer – Fixed the issue where the skill would activate slower in a combo when the slayer was in her left hand than her right hand.
● Fixed the issue where Drakania would not be targeted by monsters when she summons her Black Spirit in certain situations.
● Fixed the issue where Drakania’s neck would appear abnormal in certain positions.

Contents

● Added the instrument selection UI to the Music Album.
– You can add instruments using the UI displayed below when you are composing in the Music Album or in the Compose/Score window.

● Improved the pop-ups for the notes in the Compose/Score window that appear after they’re clicked to now close when clicked again.
● Improved the list of instruments displayed on the left side of the Compose/Score window.
– The list will no longer display all the available instruments.
– You will be able to add instruments by selecting the ‘Add Instrument’ button on the bottom left corner.
– Only the instruments added via ‘Add Instrument’ button and instruments with notes on the score will be displayed in the list.
● Improved on the issue where it appeared that the last edit done on the maximized Compose window did not get applied.
● Made the following changes to ‘How to Get a Powerful Accessory 2’ on the Season Pass:
– Changed the objective to complete ‘How to Get a Powerful Accessory 2’ on the Season Pass will be changed to ‘[Season] Old Moon Guild Special Monster Mission’ or ‘Old Moon Guild Subjugation Request – All Regions’.
– Changed the ‘[Season] Old Moon Guild Special Monster Mission’ quest to be displayed at the top of the list when talking to Jetina if the reward for ‘Leveling Up, One Step at a Time! 10’ was collected.
● Adjusted the numbers of the Max HP effect, the buff given to losing team, and the minimum AP/Accuracy/Damage Reduction given to characters participating in Red Battlefield.

 As announced during CalpheON Episode 2, the processing stones were combined. We searched for a way to combine these stones together as many of our Adventurers have requested this change. Now, Adventurers will be able to mass process a variety of items with a single processing stone. We are also currently working hard on developing the Life Inventory and Lightstone Inventory.

● Combined processing stones that were differentiated by types.
– As the processing stones were combined, Shaking, Grinding, Chopping, Drying, Filtering, and Heating can be mass processed with one processing stone.

 As the processing stones were consolidated, the pre-existing processing stones that you had can either be used as an item or sold to NPC vendors for Silver. The pre-existing processing stones in your possession have all been replaced with ‘Sealed’ processing stones. If you would like to use the processing stone as an item, then you can equip it after using it with Simple Alchemy (L).
Otherwise, you can sell all the extra processing stones for Silver to NPC vendors at the highest price that they were being sold at on the Central Market across the world.

● The following changes were made to your pre-existing Manos, Techthon, Loggia Processing Stones you have in your possession:
– All of your Processing Stones were removed from your possession and Sealed Processing Stones with the same enhancement level were sent to your Mailbox. (e.g.: +13 Manos Processing Stone – Lake → Sealed +13 Manos Processing Stone)
– Sealed Processing Stones cannot be equipped. You can either sell them to vendors for silver or use Simple Alchemy (L) to make them into processing stones that can be equipped.
– You can see below how much Silver the Sealed Processing Stones will sell via NPC vendors.

Monster

● Changed the following for Gyfin Rhasia Temple (Underground):
– Increased the area in which you can receive notifications when the Butcher of Gyfin Rhasia spawns.
– The visual effects that displayed the area to receive and maintain buffs after defeating the ‘Anger,’ ‘Denial,’ and ‘Resolve’ Ancient Stone Statues were improved to match the actual area in which you can receive the buffs.
● The following improvements will be applied to the Jade Starlight Forest of the Mountain of Eternal Winter region:
– Unstable Jade-lit Breath started to appear when you defeat Jade Lamps, Okjinsini Totems, and Traditional Okjinsini Braziers.
– Unstable Jade-lit Breath will cause an explosion when a lot of shock is inflicted.
– Alleviated the difficulty level of the [Daily] Plucking Beards quest.

Mount

● Made the following improvements to the Mount Information window.
– Improved to display the skills that are not yet learned by the mount.
– Improved to display which courser skills the mount has learned or has yet to learn when mousing over the horse icon.

● Added a feature that displays the quantity of mounts checked in Stables of other regions when transporting a mount.
● Added text regarding information on how the accumulated skill change points and history of using the Skill Selection Coupon will reset upon successful Dream Horse Awakening and Mythical Awakening on the Courser Training and Mythical Awakening UIs.
● Fixed the issue where it seemed like the accumulated skill change points didn’t reset upon successful Dream Horse Awakening with a Tier 8 Courser.

Quest, Knowledge

● Improved and changed the following for the Mountain of Eternal Winter main questline:
– The issue where you couldn’t navigate to the NPC to accept the [Everfrost] Wrapping Up quest after forfeiting the quest was fixed.
– The issue where you couldn’t see the NPCs after the cutscene for [Everfrost] Den of Barbarians ended was fixed.
– The issue where the audio and lines weren’t synced for the [Everfrost] Unintended Mistake quest with your Drakania was fixed.
– The name of the ‘Lando’s Hunting Matchlock’ for part of the main questline was changed to ‘Lando’s Matchlock.’
– Some typos in the main questline were fixed.
● Fixed some typos in quests, NPC dialogues, Exploration Knowledges, and NPC Knowledges for the Mountain of Eternal Winter.
● Fixed the issue where the following quests, which cannot be accepted and completed by Adventurers who’ve started at the Mountain of Eternal Winter, were displayed on the Suggested tab of the Quests window.

Conquest War, Node War

 We received a lot of feedback from our Adventurers, including from CalpheON Episode 2, on the possibility of enjoying Conquest Wars in another region, different from the previous one. So we made the decision to rotate the stat restriction applied in Conquest Wars of each territory. We are planning to appropriately change or maintain the rotation of stat restrictions for Conquest Wars after seeing how it’s used by our Adventurers.

 Adjustments were made to the Command Posts and Field HQs built to participate in Conquest Wars. Guilds participating in Conquest Wars can install either Command Posts or Field HQs depending on which is more strategically advantageous for their members. Guilds that install Command Posts can have their members charge in headfirst at their enemies, while guilds that install Field HQs can aim to make Cannon Observatories to rain down artillery. Also, the cooldown reduction for reviving at Recovery Centers applied in Conquest Wars has been increased. This makes it possible to revive faster from both Command Posts and Field HQs than before.

Background, NPC, Effects, Cutscene

● Improved your mouse cursor to also be activated when opening the Exit window from the Character Selection window by pressing ESC during a cutscene.
● Members of the Old Moon Guild have removed the giant reef that ran many ships aground at Al Halam Sea.

UI

● Improved the ‘Enter’ button to be displayed when hovering your mouse over the server list on the Select Server window.
● Improved to display the time items are purchased and sold on the Central Market on the Central Market Notifications window.
● Improved to display the max level at which you can invest in nodes on the Node Information window on the World Map (M).
● Improved the dotted lines previously displayed on the text for the completion target on the Quests widget to no longer be displayed upon completing quests.
● Improved the keyguide for summoning the Black Spirit to also be displayed on the Quests widget when the quest can be accepted from the Black Spirit.

System

● Improved to whisper to the most recently whispered-to Adventurer when replying to whispers by entering ‘/r.’
● Improved so that the following categories are applied to Custom Settings:
– Fairy Volume
– Nearby Music
● Improved the volume of cutscenes to be adjustable via Settings.

Web

● Improved to display a more detailed item description when hovering your mouse over the rewards on the spaces in Black Spirit’s Adventure.
● Improved to directly move to My Gallery when uploading photos in the Photo Gallery.

● Improved the UIs of the pages displaying posts on Notices, Community, Beauty Album, Photo Gallery, etc. on the Black Desert official website.
● Improved the login history to load more quickly.
● Fixed the issue where the class icons on the Adventurer page would appear abnormal under certain circumstances.
● Improved the issue where the menu and language change icons would overlap, according to the change in the direction of the screen when using certain browsers with iOS.

– Ethics Arguing to Moral Dilemma.
– Black Spirit’s Special Dice Piece to Black Spirit’s Special Die Piece.

● Fixed the issue where the dye would appear dark on certain parts of the [Musa] Wilderness outfit.
